Muckno Mania will return to Castleblayney this weekend, with organisers predicting this year's event to be "bigger and better" than ever before.
The annual street parade will get festivities well and truly underway this evening with people from near and far encouraged to come along. The street parade promises to be a vibrant and engaging event kicking off this evening at 7pm. The parade will include colourful floats, vintage vehicles, marching bands, large puppets, participating clubs/groups and lots more. This year marks the 25th year of Muckno Mania.
Stephen Fitzpatrick is the Chairman of the Muckno Mania festival committee.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said that the four-day event will have something for all the family to enjoy:
"I think it's fair to say that it's become a real event in the Castleblayney and wider area's calendar each year. People come from far and wide. Even if we look at the Friday night and the fireworks there are thousands there around Lough Muckno all seated and gathered along the field there looking upwards. It's a fantastic spectacle and it absolutely showcases Castleblayney at its best and what it and Lough Muckno have to offer. It's really fantastic and the whole committee are very proud".
