The move towards working from home is allowing more people to move to relocate or move back to the region.
Earlier today the Myhome.ie report for Quarter 4 was published and it showed an inflation to housing prices.
Local estate agent Dermot Conlon from REA in Carrickmacross says that this is due to a shortfall in supply and pent up demand for properties nationwide.
He says that in the border region apprehensions around Brexit may also have had an impact and the recent agreement may help that uncertainty buyers and developers felt.
Dermot says there is also a new dynamic for places like Cavan and Monaghan whereby people want to buy better homes in rural locations if their work will allow for it:
