The Mountnugent Tidy Towns Group is making steps towards improving the local environment through a new 'Plant Bank' initiative.
The Cavan village was awarded the Endeavour Award at last year's Tidy Towns ceremony.
However, local volunteer Mary Greene says the 'Plant Blank' is about more than making the award-winning village look good.
Instead, the group hopes to encourage bio-diversity across the local area.
Locals can exchange flower bulbs and plants at the bank in a bid to 'share their spares' and reduce waste.
Mary urges everyone to get involved and says nectar from the flowers will go towards the production of local honey.
