Ahead of the Bank Holiday Weekend, motorists are being reminded that driver fatigue is a contributory factor in as many as one in five driver deaths.
Adrian O'Sullivan, Road Safety Officer with Monaghan County Council, says there will be increased amounts of traffic on the roads and long journeys ahead for many.
He's cautioned people to think ahead about their journey to ensure they don't suffer from fatigue while driving.
The June Bank Holiday alone saw eight people die in road collisions.
