During the 24 hour period of National Slow Down Day up until 7am this morning, GoSafe checked the speed of 173,811 vehicles and detected 628 vehicles travelling in excess of the speed limit.
Across the Northern Sound region, a motorist was found to be travelling at 92km/h in a 60km/h zone on the Monaghan Road in Castleblayney
On the N3 in Killygarry Cavan a motorist was clocked at 109km/h in a 100km/h zone.
While a driver was speeding at 77km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the Castleblaney Rd in Carrickmacross.
