A motion in relation to the upgrading of a number of wastewater plants in Cavan has been highlighted.
Cllr Clifford Kelly brought the motion to the most recent sitting of Cavan County Council.
The local councillor said the main issue was that Uisce Eireann has not been planning ahead when it comes to future developments in the region.
Cllr Kelly pointed out his own town of Kingscourt saying that foresight was needed going forward to make sure housing developments were not haulted due to the lack of wastewater services.
He said that planning permisson was a barrier that delayed the progress of such developments and needed to change.
Cllr Kelly said that any such delays will have a knock on impact on homes and employment in the county.
