Julieanne also dismissed claims on social media and elsewhere that her daughter had taken her own life.

The mother of the young woman whose body was recovered from the Ulster Canal in Monaghan Town this St. Patrick's Day has said the family are "no further on" since Gardaí reported her death to them. Julieanne Lynch, has previously spoken out on social media about her beloved daughter, 23-year-old Kelly Marie, and the circumstances around her untimely and unexpected death.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier, Julieanne described Kelly as "an extension of her soul" and "best friend". The grieving mother also said Kelly had been in a "good place" leading up to her death, was planning to study an apprenticeship and had been generally growing in confidence and "into her own skin" for some time. Julieanne, who is originally from Lisnaskea but now lives in Armagh with Kelly's father and five siblings, said she feels disappointed and frustrated by the subsequent Garda investigation and that the family has been left without proper support or direction.

Julieanne also dismissed claims on social media and elsewhere that her daughter had taken her own life. Kelly's mother said right from the time she was told about her daughter's death over the phone, the lack of face-to-face communication from Gardaí has created more questions for their family, which, to date have been left unanswered: "There's such a lack of communication from the guards. There's a lack of information coming to us," Julieanne Lynch told Northern Sound, "We keep emailing, keep ringing but we just keep hitting a blank wall. I just feel more needs to be done. I do know there's a live investigation going on with regards to Kelly's death. It's just we're not being told anything. We don't know at what point they're at in the investigation. We're just being told we have to wait for an inquest. So we can't even get a death certificate for our daughter."
