There are 89 special classes in total across Cavan and Monaghan with more in the pipeline.
That's according to the Minister for Special Education and Inclusion, Josepha Madigan who is officially opening a special education class at Inver College in Carrickmacross this afternoon.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Minister said that two new classes will be opened in Cavan and an early intervention facility is set to be sanctioned at Bailieborough and Milltown national schools.
She added there was 42 special classes in Co Monaghan with five additions sanctioned for this year.
