A Monaghan councillor has called for more Garda resources in order to tackle recent spates of anti-social behaviour.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Sean Conlon expressed his concerns in relation to a housing estate in Monaghan Town, and a serious assault which occurred on Dublin Street.
According to Cllr Conlon, 99 per cent of local people are law abiding, while others are putting "two fingers up" to council officials, local Gardaí and as a result are running bedlam through some local estates.
He added this behaviour was creating "huge frustration" for residence who want to live in peace and not be bullied or harassed by other people living in the estate.
Cllr Conlon highlighted that although these are "isolated incidents," he believes anti-social of this kind can be " "curtailed" if appropriate resources are made available to Gardai:
