The new Peace Campus in Monaghan will allow more of the County Museum's
collection to be showcased.
Work on the project is set to begin in the next two weeks. It will encompass space for the Museum, County Library and other groups, including the Ulster Scots Agency.
The Museum first opened in 1974 and was the first professional county museum
in the country.
It's currently based on Hill Street in Monaghan town but space constraints
mean only a fraction of its collection can be showcased at any one time.
Curator Liam Bradley says the Peace Campus will change that:
