A Monaghan woman who ran then Dublin Marathon last week is taking on the New York Marathon today.
Charlotte Connolly from Glaslough is taking on the New York challenge following her finishing the Dublin Marathon in a personal best time of 3 hrs and 12 mins 7 days ago.
50,000 runners are set to hit the city's streets of New York at 12 o'clock Irish time.
Charlotte told Northern Sound News that this is her 15th marathon to run, her first time to take on New York.
Temperatures are to set to be high with 23 to 25 degrees forecasted during the run with very high humidity.
The Glaslough native says her family have come over with her to support her and she will be happy to see Central Park with the finish line in sight.
