Monaghan woman, Mary Flora has written her first book of short stories entitled 'Where The Fairies Dwell'. Contained within its covers are stories of old - passed down over generations - by people that gathered around the fireside watching the dancing flames as they listened to the Sheanachai.
Mary, a retired midwife, said her grandmother told her the stories and she wanted a record of them for her own family. She pointed out that as the book began to come to fruition, it gathered momentum.
She has now created a magical and thought provoking piece of work that is guaranteed to entertain people of all ages. "My grandmother would tell me these stories and she had such a look of authority on her face.
"I believed everything that granny told me and I wanted to pass on those storied to my own children," Mary added.
