A Monaghan woman living in China says the outbreak of the Delta variant in the country is "worrying" and has authorities on "high alert".
China has adopted a "zero-covid" approach to the virus, but 94 new cases were reported yesterday.
Mikayla Fox is a teacher living in China, but is originally from Castleblayney.
She is currently living in a town close to Shanghai and says there have been confirmed cases in neighbouring cities.
She says a lot of restrictions are back in place and "cities are facing lockdowns again".
Mikayla hasn't been home to Co Monaghan since the pandemic began, and she told this morning's Joe Finnegan Show that the presence of the Delta variant could prevent her from returning home in the near future:
