Monaghan Volunteer Centre and Monaghan Integrated Development recently launched the annual Monaghan Volunteers Awards.
The launch event took place at the Westenra Hotel and was attended by last year's winners.
According to Sinead Keenan of the Monaghan Volunteer Centre, these awards recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of volunteers and voluntary organisations across Co Monaghan.
The three categories for the awards are; Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Volunteer Group of the Year.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Ms Keenan said that organisers are hoping to receive a "broad selection" of nominations.
The 2023 awards are now open for nominations and nomination forms are available by contacting Monaghan Volunteer Centre or via the 'volunteer monaghan' website.
This year the winners will be announced at an event in the Garage Theatre in Monaghan on Sunday 12th November and nomination entries close on Friday 29th September at 5pm.
The awards have been held annually since 2007.
Winners of the individual categories from the past few years have included volunteers from sports clubs, heritage groups, older peoples groups,
disability groups and many more.
The Volunteer Group of the Year category celebrates the work of local voluntary organisations, especially those that work hard to involve new
volunteers and find new ways to carry out their work.
