The Monaghan U3A group is holding a fundraiser starting this morning for two local mental health charities.
Geraldine Kelly is the chairperson of the group here, which has over 600 members, and brings together people who are 55 and over.
She says that while they usually don't do charity events, given the impact that this past year has had on young people's mental health in the region they wanted to do something to support those struggling in their community.
It will begin with a walk this morning in Rossmore at 10.30am, with a head shave taking place on Wednesday on behalf of SOSAD Monaghan and LA 519.
