A Monaghan businesswoman has highlighted the importance of shopping local, particularly in the lead-up to Christmas. 'Diamond Imaging' has been in business in Monaghan Town for the last 35 years. Ingrid Owens who took over the business from her father in recent years is also a member of the Monaghan Town Team. The local Town Team is a voluntary committee of representatives of different groups throughout Monaghan Town.
The goal of the group is to increase footfall in Monaghan Town which will benefit the economy and make it a better place for people to live. Speaking to Northern Sound, Ingrid highlighted the importance of initiatives like the 'Monaghan Has It' voucher scheme:
