A Monaghan town restaurant owner that closed twice this year says he owes Revenue over €5,000 because his take-away service was so successful.
During the last lockdown, Andy’s in Monaghan offered take-away meals to make up for them not being able to welcome customers indoors.
Kevin Redmond said if businesses took in more than a third of their income from 2019, they weren’t eligible for grant supports.
He said there was no surprise to hear that the hospitality sector will be locked down for a third time before the end of the year.
Kevin says he’s been a victim of his own success because he tried to adapt.
