A section of the Monaghan town greenway has reopened following upgrade works.
The greenway, from the Coolshannagh Roundabout to Old Cross Square, closed on May 23rd, with the works originally expected to take six to eight weeks.
However with supply chain issues there was a delay in receiving lighting columns and the closure was extended.
The Greenway reopened yesterday with the completed works including resurfacing and drainage.
Additional signage, seating and a green area are also due to be installed.
The local authority says works to carry out similar upgrades on the remainder of the greenway will get underway shortly.
