A defibrillator which was out of use in Monaghan Town due to an act of vandalism "is now back in place and operational".
On Monday afternoon, Monaghan County Council said the defibrillator at the Motor Tax Office would be "unavailable until further notice" as a result of the vandalism.
This was to allow time for the Local Authority to fix the parts that were broken in the incident.
In a statement this afternoon, the County Council asked those "involved in the vandalising of this life saving equipment to remember it may be your family member or friend that needs to use some day and it may not be there to save them because you vandalised it".
