Two students from Beech Hill College in Monaghan town are on a mission to encourage more young people to become "more active" and get involved in Bike Week.
While Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of the benefits of cycling, fifth year students Emile Lileikyte and Caitlyn Van Tonder believes the week itself means so much more.
The Monaghan pair introduced the 'Bike Week' initiative to their school after noticing a lack of younger students who cycled to school, particularly in the Monaghan area.
Speaking to Northern Sound, 16-year-old Emile Lileikyte says the combination of physical exercise and alone time is "vitally important" for the mental health of students, especially during exam seasons.
