A Monaghan senator has called on the Finance Minister to postpone the introduction of the 10% levy on manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products.
Senator Robbie Gallagher raised his concerns in the Seanad this afternoon.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Senator Gallagher asked the Department to take on the concerns of local concrete manufactures who now have fears over the future over their businesses should this levy be introduced.
He added that the introduction of this levy would create serious problems particularly for border businesses who want their voices heard before a decision is made:
