A local Senator has called on the government to explain delays to the roll-out of CCTV in Monaghan.
The application for community CCTV schemes in Carrickmacross and Monaghan town are being processed but have been hit by delays.
Senator Robbie Gallagher raised the issue in the Seanad this week and called on Minister of State James Browne to provide clarity on the situation.
The Minister said the government is aware of the importance CCTV plays in giving security to local communities, and would bring Senator Gallagher's specific concerns back to the Department of Justice for examination.
