Monaghan Rotary Club is holding its Greenway challenge this Sunday with proceedings kicking off at 9am. The Challenge is just one of a number of massive fundraisers that the Club takes on annually to support local, national and international causes.
Speaking to Northern Sound, organiser Michael Liddle, highlighted how this year's event will provide much-needed funds for Sosad, Solace, and Monaghan Mental Health Association. He said the Greenway Challenge and the Tree of Remembrance event at Christmas are the Club's two main annual fundraisers and both receive massive local support.
Michael added that Sunday's fundraiser will help to raise awareness around mental health and on the wonderful amenity that Monaghan Greenway has become. "The event is taking place on Sunday from 9am to 2pm in groups of three of four from each of the four centres - The Four Seasons, The Hillgrove Hotel, Coral Leisure Centre, and Fitness Habit.
"There are time sheets at the centres and the best way to secure a place is to just pop in and put your name down. The fee is €10 and all donations are greatly accepted," he said.
