Anne Marie McArdle will represent Co Monaghan at this year's upcoming Rose of Tralee Festival. The Carrickmacross native who was crowned Monaghan's Rose back in May is a newly qualified Primary Teacher working in Dublin. Anne Marie has also organised a tractor vintage car run in a bid to raise funds for her Rose of Tralee journey and Down Syndrome North East. The event starts at Killanny Church car park on Sunday, July 14th with registration starting at 2pm and the run kicking-off at 3pm. On the same day there will also be a children's tractor run which is taking place at Killanny playground at 2:15pm. There will be face painting, a candy floss cart and an ice-cream van all on the day.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Anne Marie has encouraged locals to get involved and show their support for an important organisation like Down Syndrome North East; "This is guaranteed to be a fun day out for all the family to enjoy. It's a fundraiser for my Rose of Tralee journey and I'm also partnering with Down Syndrome North East who are based in Carrickmacross. They're an amazing organisation and I'm only delighted to be able to partner with them and highlight the incredible work that they carry out."
