A Monaghan publican says he is filled with "despair" and warns that Government inaction could "kill the traditional Irish pub and put it into extinction".
Brian Renaghan owns a pub close to the border in Clontibret and he's called for all pubs and hospitality to re-open at the same time.
It follows representations made to the Joint Committee on Tourism for the 9% VAT rate to remain in place until 2025, along with an extension to the waiver on commercial rates paid to local authorities.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Brian Renaghan says no other industry has taken the "hammering" that the pub trade has:
