A County Monaghan asylum seeker accommodation centre has been refused plans to undertake a major expansion.
Tattonward Ltd submitted plans in March to install six detached buildings at their site facility at Drumgoask.
If the development had received the go-ahead it would have resulted in an additional 61 modular units being added to the centre.
However, the local authority highlighted a number of concerns which resulted in the application being turned down. Among a total of six factors which led to its decision, Monaghan County Council said the site’s rural location and lack of connectivity with existing services. The lack of a pedestrian footpath was also highlighted.
