A Monaghan Postmaster says the Government must intervene to save the Post Office network.
A Grant Thornton review commissioned by the Irish Postmasters Union and published this morning, says the network is at a 'critical juncture'.
Its recommending government provide 17 million euro a year in support's to avoid large-scale post office closures.
Ciaran McEntee from Threemilehouse is the Vice-President of the Irish Postmasters' Union and he urged the Government to heed the warnings issued in the report.
Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show, Ciaran said the rural economy and rural post offices won't survive otherwise.
