A Co Monaghan bingo player is having a week to remember after pocketing a five-figure sum of cash following a lucky run of numbers. The anonymous punter invested just €5 in a BoyleSports shop in the county on Wednesday and was left hoping that their six bingo numbers appeared among the 35 called out.
A massive jackpot of €500,000 was up for grabs from the €5 stake if the selected numbers were the first six drawn, but a significant consolation prize was on the way instead as 12, 13, 28, 29, 42 and 43 were all revealed within the first eight numbers.
The welcome run of luck allowed the lucky winner to return to the counter and swap their €5 betslip for a staggering total of €25,000.
