Several parents in Monaghan have been forced to drive their children to school after a change in the school bus route left the pick-up point in an "unsafe" location.
A change to the Bus Éireann operated route in the Connons-Clones area, that serves Largy College and other secondary schools, means the pick-up point for some pupils is now on the N54, Cavan Road.
Brenda McCaffrey, a parent of one of the affected children, says the children face walking an "extremely unsafe" road that has no footpaths or lighting to get to the pick-up point on the N54.
The children also have to walk three kilometres to get to the new pick-up point.
Bus tickets for school are €350, yet Brenda says she has to leave the children to and from school herself.
In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound, Bus Eiréann said "parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children are brought safely to and from Bus Éireann designated pick-up and set down points".
Bus Éireann added that it has reviewed this particular school transport route and the location of the school bus pick-up point is deemed safe and similar to many routes and pick-up points in the county".
Brenda told The Joe Finnegan Show that she can't let her children walk the road:
