The Monaghan Motor Tax office is closing temporarily as a precautionary measure following a staff member testing positive for Covid-19.
Monaghan County Council has stated that the office located at Market Street, is closed to the public until further notice in the interest of customer and staff safety.
The Motor Tax Service can still be accessed online, by post, through the front door post box at the facility or by email.
The council is urging people in the region to heed the advice of NPHET as they say the virus is spreading at ‘an alarming rate’ locally.
They have issued an appeal asking everyone to all that is in their individual power to reduce the numbers and contain the virus.
