A Monaghan mother with multiple sclerosis has shared signs of the condition she ignored for five years in an effort to help others.
Orla Marron, a mum-of-two, from Carrickmacross explained that she had been experiencing some symptoms of multiple sclerosis for several years before going to her GP for help.
Orla says had she gone to her doctor straight away her condition as it stands wouldn't be as difficult. She explained that she knew something was wrong, but she put it off because she had a feeling the diagnosis was on the way.
Her own mother suffers from MS so she the local woman knew about the condition first hand before she received her diagnosis.
Orla is heavily involved in the Monaghan voluntary branch of MS Ireland. She said the supports that she has received through MS Ireland has been invaluable.
