A Monaghan mother whose children were abducted by their father in Egypt over two years ago has received a court date in Cairo in her ongoing bid to bring them home.
Monaghan native, Mandy Kelly was on holiday in Egypt two years ago when her husband locked her in an apartment and took her children.
Ms Kelly has not seen or have had any contact with her two boys, 3-year-old Kareem and 5-year-old Zayn Mohammed since then. A court date has now been set for Egypt for September. Speaking to Northern Sound last month, Ms Kelly is confident she will have her Irish born children returned to her this year. Mandy also confirmed that her ex-husband has made a cash ransom demand for her two young sons.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Monaghan woman says she still continues to lobby politicians here to assist in any way they can.
