Monaghan mum Orla Marron has been chosen as the MS Readathon ambassador for MS Ireland, which takes place throughout the month of November.
This offers MS Ireland an opportunity to help raise funds for this important cause. Orla launched the 37th annual MS Readathon with her children Kyle and Katie and the St Michael's National School in Donaghmoyne, Co Monaghan to help raise funds to support the 10,000 people living with Multiple Sclerosis in Ireland.
Orla said she loved to get lost in a book but when she fell ill from MS, that changed. Then the only time she would read was researching MS. But with lots of support and help from MS Ireland and the various resources they provide she finds herself , seven years on, in a much better space so last New Year she set herself a resolution to be a better role model for my kids in relation to reading.
The MS Readathon is MS Ireland's oldest and most anticipated event each year. Orla says it's wonderful to be selected as their ambassador adding she feels very privileged.
