A Monaghan man has been sentenced to prison over the theft of machinery in Belgium.
55 year old Damien McPhillips from Newbliss, Co Monaghan was convicted for his role in the theft of cranes, excavators and trailers between September 2016 and February 2018.
They were stolen and then shipped to the UK.
Mr McPhillips, who's believed to be in the UK, was tried in Belgium in his absence.
He was sentenced to five years in prison.
Belgian authorities are expected to issue a warrant for his arrest and that of three associates.
