A Monaghan man is looking to reunite a sentimental item with its owner.
John purchased a nativity set from a charity shop in Monaghan Town, which is located on the road to the Four Seasons Hotel in February of this year.
When he brought the set home, he discovered a hand written note underneath one of the figures, which had Happy Birthday Jesus written on it. Inside the note was a Christmas message dedicated to Jesus, including drawings of presents and the words "I'll be looking out for your star". The note was signed by an Emma Mc and John is now looking to reunite the note with its writer.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, he says the note has a beautiful message which he would love to reunite with it's owner.
"It says 'Dear Jesus, Happy Birthday. Lots of love, and by the way, have a great day. Yours truly, Emma Mc- xoxoxo'. Christmas Day fell on a Wednesday whenever this was written and I said to myself, this is of no sentimental value to me, no benefit. I'd say the person who donated it didn't even know it was in there and donated it my mistake".
