A Monaghan man has spoken out about the benefits of "giving back" and helping others across the local community.
Anthony Bannon has been involved with the Monaghan Meals on Wheels service for the last 17 years.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr Bannon who has worked with countless community groups down through the years said that the local service has "expanded rapidly" over the years, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Mr Bannon, when he first joined the service, volunteers were delivering 20-25 meals a day and now their delivering into the mid-30s. Mr Bannon said that despite set-backs caused by the Covid pandemic, local volunteers like himself always found a "solution" in order to look after those who needed support when it was most needed.
