A Monaghan man has been awarded the 'Fundraiser of the Year' award by mental health charity Turn2Me.
Colm McEneaney from Carrickmacross has been awarded the Turn2Me 'Fundraiser of the Year' award after doing 24 hours of Burpees to raise money for the charity.
The fundraiser was in the name of his friend, Craig Lynch from Shercock, who was killed in a car accident. Colm said it was an honour and a privilege to be awarded the Fundraiser of the Year Award. He said his efforts were about making people aware of Turn2Me and the work the charity does nationwide, adding that if one person contacts Turn2Me after the Fundraiser then it's made a difference.
Colm's fundraiser has raised €3,180 to date for Turn2Me. Turn2Me offers up to six free counselling sessions to adults living in Ireland, a free unlimited meditation programme, free unlimited support groups, and a free 'Thought Catcher' online mood diary, all available on Turn2Me.ie. Speaking to Northern Sound earlier this week during his 24hr challenge he said it was wonderful to raise awareness.
