Mental health in the farming community will be the focus of tonight's Monaghan IFA Co Executive meeting.
Dr Lorcan Martin will be the guest speaker at the event which takes place in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney at 8pm sharp.
Depression, loneliness and suicide will be discussed and everyone is welcome to come along and join in the conversation.
IFA regional chairman, Frank Brady says many people in the community are isolated and lonely.
He added it is important to provide opportunities for people to get out socially, have a chat and meet neighbours and friends.
"We do need as a society to talk more about what's happening and what is ravaging our society at the moment," he continued.
"We all know somebody that has chosen a very permanent solution to a short term problem.
"I feel that tonight is a start for the farming community and indeed for anybody else that feels they can get something from this.
"Everyone is welcome to come to this meeting tonight - you don't have to be an IFA member."
