Sinn Féin spokesperson on Health, Deputy David Cullinane, has paid tribute to health care staff in Monaghan during a visit to the county today.
Deputy Cullinane met with patients and staff at Monaghan Hospital and visited local charities in Monaghan town earlier today.
The Sinn Féin TD has undergone a tour of the island to hear about peoples' experiences of healthcare.
He said he along with local deputies Matt Carty and Pauline Tully want to know what the region needs in terms of medical infrastructure.
On his tour of Monaghan today, Deputy Cullinane visited the Crocus centre in the town.
Monaghan Hospital has purposed for a new MRI scanner which would be a very welcome development according to the Health spokesperson for Sinn Féin
He added that it was very hearting to hear from the staff members who want to have all these services to offer people living in the region.
Deputy Cullinane said the staff want Monaghan hospital to be the best that it possibly can be.
