A Monaghan Green Party representative says the government's new Climate Action Bill is a 'big step forward for climate action in Ireland'.
The Bill aims to get the country to zero emissions by 2050, and includes measures like a five year carbon budget and yearly climate plan.
Tate Donnelly says another big part of the Bill is the strengthened role for the Climate Change Advisory Council, which will have more powers to hold the government to account.
