A GoFundMe page set up to assist a Braddox woman who lost everything she owns in a house fire has far exceeded the target amount by more than treble.
Teresa Markey who lost all her personal belongings in a house fire just 24 hours after having power restored to her home following Storm Éowyn was at a funeral when the fire took hold.
Her pet dog and cat were at home at the time and unfortunately the cat died in the blaze and her dog needed vet treatment after being rescued.
Friends who wanted to help Teresa get back on her feet started a GoFundMe page to raise €3000 to assist her in replacing household items.
The latest amount raised stands at over €10,000 and rising, which, is more than three times the amount fundraisers hoped for.
Teresa's cousin, Frances, says she can't thank local people enough.
