Monaghan gardaí are urging motorists to be "considerate" of those with disabled parking permits in the run-up to Christmas.
As part of Operation Enable, which is a joint initiative between gardaí and the Irish Wheelchair Association, gardaí were recently on patrol on the North Road in Monaghan Town.
While on patrol, they issued a Fixed Payment Notice to a driver who had parked in a disabled parking bay without a disabled parking permit.
Monaghan gardaí have used the incident to remind motorists to leave disabled parking bays for those legally entitled to use them.
