Members of the Monaghan Roads Policing Unit praised local motorists following a recent speed check.
The speed checks took place yesterday at Knockroe and Latlorcan in Co Monaghan.
Elsewhere, speed checks were also conducted on the Shercock Road in Carrickmacross.
According to Monaghan Gardaí, excessive speeds were not detected during the operation and as a result fixed payment notices were not issued.
Members of the Monaghan Roads Policing Unit "thanked" local motorists for their co-operation, as they endeavour to keep roads safe and reduce the risk of fatalities.
The local policing unit advised motorists to keep up the good work, and to remain conscious of their speed at all times.
