Gardai in Monaghan have issued an appeal to the public following a recent spate of thefts from local farms and farm buildings.
According to Sergeant Mick Duffy, a theft took place between Monday the 15th and Thursday the 18th of May where a quantity of horse riding equipment was taken from horse riding stables in Drum.
Elsewhere, over the night of Sunday the 21st and Monday the 22nd of May, a farm shed was broken into in Scotshouse, where a large quantity of expensive items were also stolen.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who was offered any items to make contact with Gardai in Monaghan on 047 77 240.
Meanwhile, apeaking to Northern Sound, Sergeant Duffy appealed to listeners to ensure that farm sheds, garages and garden sheds are securely locked.
He added that this is of particular concern to local farmers over this busy period.
