Gardaí in Monaghan are investigating after a dog killed eight sheep on a farm recently.
The attack happened in the Drumhowan area of the county between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
It's suspected that more than one dog was involved because a number of other sheep were injured or traumatised by the incident.
The owner of the sheep is asking anyone with information to pass it on to Gardaí.
The Department of Agriculture estimates that at least 250 sheep attacks took place in Ireland in 2019, while unreported attacks are thought to bring the real number closer to 400 each year.
