Gardai in Monaghan have launched an investigation after a woman in her 70s was knocked down and killed outside Clones on Saturday night. They are also appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
The accident happened on the Newbliss Road at Clonavilla at 10:45pm and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling on the Newbliss Road between 10pm and 11pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
