Monaghan forecaster advises 'extra vigilance' on roads

Speaking to Northern Sound, Gerry Murphy said potential impacts will include hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility and travel disruption.

Icy stretches are making driving conditions difficult for motorists across Cavan and Monaghan this morning. Met Éireann issued a status yellow snow and ice warning for counties Cavan and Monaghan over Saturday and Sunday.

According to Co Monaghan forecaster Gerry Murphy, cold air will continue to spread which will lead to very sharp frost and ice on top of any lying snow. As a result, he has reminded motorists to be extra vigilant when driving this morning.
