A Monaghan footballer has launched a petition to reverse the LGFA's decision to scrap its underage All-Ireland series.

The LGFA announced earlier this year, that for the second year in a row, there'll be no All Ireland Championship at U14, U16 and Minor levels.

Kerrie-Anne Walsh, who plays with the Monaghan Ladies U16 team says they and the County Minor Ladies aren't ready to end their football year yet.

Walsh's petition, which has gained over 3,600 signatures, is calling on the LGFA to follow the example of the juvenile men's series and let them play for All-Ireland medals in 2021.

Méabh Cusack, Cathaoirleach of Monaghan Ogra Fianna Fail says she's raised the issue with senior party politicians.
