Monaghan Fire Service received a total of 18 callouts during the Halloween period yesterday. 11 of the 18 callouts came from the Monaghan Town area. The remaining 7 callouts were from elsewhere in the county. The figures were confirmed to Northern Sound by Monaghan County Council's Chief Fire Office, Dermot Brannigan.
According to Dermot, this year's Halloween period proved to be "relatively settled" compared to previous years. He added that 18 callouts was a positive outcome for local fire crews, considering the volume of Halloween activities with Monaghan Town being "busier than normal."
