A local General Election candidate and local councillor says Monaghan deserves an A&E.
Cllr David Maxwell who is also a candidate for Fine Gael in the upcoming election says he will continue to fight for Monaghan.
He clashed with Deputy Matt Carthy over the lack of services at Monaghan Hospital, Cllr Maxwell said that Sinn Fein should look at their own record when it comes to hospital A&E closures across the border.

He told Deputy Carthy that services are being expanded at the hospital to which the Sinn Fen local TD strongly objected too.
The two local representatives had a heated debate over the issue.
